80 Charges Laid in Traffic Enforcement #nltraffic

On Tuesday afternoon the RCMP and RNC teamed up for a joint enforcement initiative.
The operation took place on the Trans-Canada Highway at Butterpot Park.
Officers laid over 80 charges consisting of speeding, registration, and insurance violations.
Police charged six excessive speeders whose speeds ranged between 151 km/h and 173 km/h. All were given $520 tickets, their vehicles were impounded and driver’s licenses suspended.
One other driver was found operating a vehicle without insurance, resulting in a $2600 ticket and the vehicle impounded.
Drivers who had their vehicles impounded will be responsible to pay the associated tow and impound fees.
