4 Dead after Rioters Storm US Capitol, Biden Certified as next President

Officials say that four people are dead after rioters stormed the US Capitol Building.


Chaos unfolded earlier on Wednesday when President Trump told his supporters to march to Capitol Hill. It was there that rioters stormed the iconic building.


Officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, were forced to flee the senate floor and were taken to an undisclosed location.


The National Guard and other Federal Agents were deployed.


Several officers have been injured. One was transported to the hospital.


A 6:00 pm curfew was invoked in Washington D.C.


In response to the violence, Twitter suspended the account of Donald Trump and it will be locked for 12 hours.


There are growing calls along Democratic and Republican lines to invoke the 25th amendment. The Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution says that if the President becomes unable to do his job, the Vice President becomes the President. This can happen for just a little while if the President is just sick or disabled for a short time.


Trump will only remain president for the next 13 days until Joe Biden is sworn in on Inauguration Day which is January 20.


Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser extending the public emergency declared on Wednesday for a total of 15 days.
