RCMP Pulls Over Impaired Cab Driver #nltraffic

A 61-year-old cab driver of Stephenville is now suspended from driving following an impaired driving complaint.

RCMP received a report of a suspected impaired driver, operating a taxi cab, in the town of Stephenville. The vehicle was located in the town and police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was heading to a school to drop off a student.

The officer suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol and demanded a roadside breath test, the results of which were above the provincial limit. The driver was issued a seven-day driver’s licence suspension and the taxi cab was seized and impounded.

Police served a copy of the impoundment form of the vehicle on the taxi company, the registered owner of the vehicle.

Bay St. George RCMP thanks the public for continuing to report suspected impaired drivers.
