Corner Brook Traffic Strop Lands Woman in Trouble After Providing False Name

On Wednesday morning the RNC conducted a traffic stop on Maple Valley Road.

During the stop it was revealed that the female driver could not produce a valid driver’s licence and the vehicle was not insured.

As a result, the female driver provided a name and she was issued Summary Offence Tickets for Driving without a Driver’s Licence and Operating a Vehicle without Insurance.

The vehicle was impounded.

Throughout investigation it was later determined that the female provided a false name during the course of the initial traffic stop and investigation.

As a result, the female was located and arrested for Public Mischief (Diverting Suspicion from herself by providing a false identity). She was released to appear in Provincial Court at a later date and the Summary Offence Tickets were reissued under the female’s real name.
