OPINION: Trudeau Has Been Found in Violation of Ethics, But He's Not Alone

Just before a federal election, Justin Trudeau has been found to have breached ethics.

Conservatives were quick to launch an attack. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said that this is the first time a sitting Prime Minister has broken the law... there is just one problem, that's not true.

In fact, there have been several instances that this has happened in our political history.

There have been scandals from John A. Macdonald to Stephen Harper.

In 2011, the Stephen Harper Government was found to be in contempt of parliament.

John A. Macdonald was involved in the Pacific Scandal.

Brian Mulroney was clouded by the Schreiber Affair.

Several Prime Ministers have done various things that are against the law.
