Military to Assist RCMP Search for Homicide Suspects

The Canadian Armed Forces will assist the RCMP in the search for the two homicide suspects by providing air support.

Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are suspected of three homicides in British Columbia.

RCMP believe they are now in Manitoba.

The Department of National Defence will provide a Royal Canadian Air Force search and rescue CC-130H Hercules aircraft from Winnipeg.

There have been no new sightings of the suspects in the Gillam area and no new information that would indicate that the suspects have fled the area.

DND will assist the RCMP “until they indicate that our assistance is no longer required.”
