Province Almost Couldn't Meet Payroll In 2016 #nlpoli

As it turns out the province was in a bad spot financially last year this time.

Finance Minister Tom Osborne said that in 2016 they came close to not being able to meet their payroll requirements.

That is why, according to Osborne, the measures that were taken in the budget of 2016 were necessary.

In 2016 the government was borrowing $4 million a day, that number has since been cut in half.

This forced the government to sell $1 billion in treasury bills.
