Marine Atlantic axes plan for rate increase #nltraffic

Marine Atlantic has announced that the company will be rolling back the 2021 rate increase.

Customers who have or will travel after April 1, 2021, will receive a refund for the cost difference.

The company said that COVID-19 continues to impact the Canadian economy. As such, Marine Atlantic will help enable a strong return for the economy.

Commercial rates for the Port aux Basques to North Sydney route were to increase 2 percent.

On the Argentia to North Sydney route, passenger and commercial fares were supposed to go up 2.5 percent.
