The RCMP responded to a disturbance in Harbour Grace on Monday and arrested 34-year-old Travis Oliver.

The accused was arrested for uttering threats.

Once at the detachment, he continued aggressive behaviour towards the police. He assaulted two officers, uttered death threats toward one officer and attempted to remove one of the officer’s service pistols from the officer’s duty belt.

He appeared in court today to answer to charges including assault, two counts of uttering threats against a person, two counts of assaulting a police officer, obstructing a police officer, and attempting to disarm a police officer.

The investigation is continuing.
