Due to the rising tension and threat of violence in the Middle East, Canadians are asked to exercise a high degree of caution, or avoid travelling to altogether.
As of Saturday, Canadians should exercise a high degree of caution in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, along with the United Arab Emirates.
Travel to Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, and Iraq should be avoided.
Anytime there is an alert stating an "high degree of caution" it means that there are identifiable safety and security concerns or the safety and security situation could change with little notice. You should exercise a high degree of caution at all times, monitor local media and follow the instructions of local authorities.
The Federal Government is also warning that the security situation could worsen with little warning.
