RNC Kept Busy With Accidents in Corner Brook #nltraffic

An early-season snowfall kept first responders busy in Corner Brook on Friday.


There were half a dozen accidents.


The first was at 10:19 am when there was a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the Exit 5 off-ramp and Massey Drive in Corner Brook city limits. Both vehicles involved sustained extensive damages however, there were no injuries reported. As a result of the investigation, a male adult driver of one of the vehicles involved was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to obey a stop sign.


Then at 10:34 am a vehicle that had lost control and colliding into a convenience store. Extensive damage sustained to the building and vehicle however, no injuries were reported.


Shortly before noon, there was a two-vehicle head-on collision on Riverside Drive near Humber Road. Both vehicles involved sustained extensive damages. Both female drivers were taken to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, one of the drivers was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to provide ½ of the roadway for travel.


At 12:53 pm there was a report of a vehicle in a ditch. Members requested a tow truck to assist in the removal of the vehicle. While tow truck was on the scene, a vehicle slid down a slippery section of the roadway and collided into the tow truck. Both the tow truck and vehicle sustained moderate damages.


There was another two-vehicle head-on collision on Lewin Parkway near the Exit 6 on-ramp to TCH West traffic near Parkway Hyundai. Extensive damages were reported to both vehicles however, no injuries reported.


Crews attended a two-vehicle collision on Knights Rd when a vehicle driving on O’Connell Dr collided into parked police unit and then came to rest into the rear of an oil truck. Moderate damages sustained to the police unit and oil truck. Extensive damages to other vehicle that slid into these vehicles. No injuries were reported.
