The provincial government has awarded a contract valued at $6.1 million to Brook Construction to construct the new protective care extension of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood.
Government says that the new extension will include 20 resident rooms, a lounge, a nursing station, and other ancillary spaces. All of these amenities will be in a 16,250 square-feet single-story facility attached to the existing health centre.
Work will also include a wander garden, asphalt, grading and landscaping around the immediate extension.
Construction will start later this summer and will be completed in late 2020.
