January 26, 2018

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook is reminding the public of changes to the Designated Mobility Impaired Parking Regulations under the Highway Traffic Act.

Amendments to the Designated Mobility Impaired Parking Regulations under the Newfoundland and Labrador Highway Traffic Act became effective on January 3, 2018. he fine of $100 for illegally parking in a designated mobility impaired parking space (blue zone) has increased to a minimum fine of $400 and a maximum fine of $700.

Police say they have been monitoring these parking spaces and will continue to enforce the Regulations by issuing Summary Offence Tickets for vehicles not in compliance.

If someone observes a vehicle illegally parked in a designated mobility impaired parking space (blue zone) they are asked to contact the RNC.
