The RNC in partnership with the City of Mount Pearl, Town of Paradise, Town of Conception Bay South and the Torbay-Portugal Cove Commissionaires will begin a month long traffic enforcement initiative aimed at reducing highway traffic act violations in and around school zones.
In partnership with key stakeholders, Traffic Services division along with our Patrol Services Division on the Northeast Avalon, Corner Brook Region and Labrador West, the RNC intends to increase enforcement in school zones in an effort to make those areas safer for students in our community.
Through a zero tolerance approach, RNC will target school zone areas that have been highlighted as high complaint – high offence areas within communities.
Officers will be working in conjunction with enforcement officers from the City of Mount Pearl, CBS, as well as commissionaires with Torbay-Portugal Cove. The public can expect that police will use covert enforcement measures as well as overt measures such as LiDAR and RADAR for speed enforcement.
