The United States Congress will meet today to officially certify the victory of Donald Trump in the Presidential Election in November.

The joint session will count the electoral votes and certify the results.

Vice President Kamala Harris, also Trump's opponent in the election will certify the results. Under federal law, Congress must meet to certify the results on January 6.

Today is anticipated to be much less eventful than the violent attack on Congress by supporters of then-President Donald Trump four years ago.

Since the last time, rules have been changed for the rules of certification. Security has also been increased.
