U.S. Memorial Health Centre implements four week temporary schedule

Due to human resources challenges the U.S. Memorial Health Centre in St. Lawrence has implemented a four-week temporary schedule for emergency services.

From November 7 to December 4 emergency services will be closed on Tuesday and Thursday starting at 8:00 a.m. for 24 hours. Emergency services will remain open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:00 a.m. for 24 hours.

During emergency service closures, appointments for primary health-care visits will continue.

Family practice clinics and outpatient laboratory services, such as blood collection and X-ray, are available by appointment.

Patients requiring emergency services during the closures should call 911 or proceed to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, or the Dr. S. Beckley Clinic in Grand Bank if they feel they have a serious or urgent medical problem.
