Two people arrested after violent armed robbery in Paradise

Just before 9:00 am on Friday morning the RNC responded to an armed robbery at a local store in Paradise.

A male and female had fled the store with merchandise after assaulting the clerk.

The pair were located and arrested on Friday afternoon.

The 46-year-old male was charged with armed robbery, assault with a weapon or intimidation, dangerous operation of a vessel, flight while pursued by a peace officer, failure to comply with a release order and breach of a probation order. As well, he is also facing charges on another related matter that occurred later in the day.

The 37-year-old female was charged with armed robbery, failure to comply with a release order and breach of a probation order. As well, she is facing multiple charges on other outstanding files.

Both individuals were taken to the St. John’s City lockup and will appear in court this morning.
