Two arrested and officer injured following traffic stop in St. John’s

RNC conducted a traffic stop St. John’s last evening.

The occupants were placed under arrest for possession of controlled substances. A number of the occupants attempted to flee the vehicle on foot.

A 35-year-old male was charged with Possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Being Unlawfully at Large and Resisting Arrest. A youth was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and 2 counts of breaching his probation orders.

The arresting officer was treated and released from hospital.

Both males were held for court.
