St. John's looking at changes to Daycare Centre regulations

The City of St. John's is taking a look at Daycare Centre regulations.

A text amendment is being considered to the St. John’s Development Regulations. The amendment would bring Daycare Centre regulations more in line with the requirements and terminology used by the Province.

A daycare within a home would be allowed as a Permitted Use within various residential zones, and an amendment to allow Daycare Centre as a Permitted Use in various commercial and institutional zones.

The City is also considering removing Daycare Centre from zones that do not have municipal water. This includes the Rural Residential Zone and the Rural Village Zone.
