St. John's International Airport to remain closed until Sunday evening
The St. John's International Airport says that the terminal building is anticipated to open to the public on Sunday at 5:00 pm with commercial flight operations resuming at 7:00 pm.
The decision was made in collaboration with the RNC, Fire Department and the building restoration team.
The terminal building was evacuated due to a fire last night. The fire was localized to an area on the second floor of the terminal. The St. John’s International Airport Emergency responders and St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the incident.
Anyone planning to travel is asked to not visit the Airport until they are advised that it has re-opened and to contact their airline for flight information.
