Snow to continue across the Avalon Peninsula this morning


An area of low pressure will pass well south of Newfoundland today resulting in snow for the Avalon Peninsula.


Snow began overnight and will come to an end this morning across the southern Avalon and early this afternoon for northern areas.


Snowfall forecast for Wednesday from 6:00 am:

  • St. John's 5-15 cm

  • Carbonear 3-7 cm

  • Trepassey 3-7 cm

  • Placentia 2-4 cm


This will be on top of the snow that fell overnight.


Winds will gust to 50 km/h resulting in some blowing snow.
