Several displaced after fire at St. John's apartment building

Last night around 11:00 pm the St. John's Regional Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a downtown apartment building.

The fire was contained to a top floor apartment and was quickly extinguished.

One person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and 18 other residents were displaced from their homes due to smoke and water damage.

The Red Cross assisted residents with temporary housing.
