Saskatchewan Cabinet Minister Resigns After U.S. Trip


Joe Hargrave the Minister of Highways and Minister responsible for the Water Security Agency in Saskatchewan has resigned after reports that he travelled to the United States over the Christmas season.


The MLA travelled to Palm Springs and is expected to return today.


Hargrave was first elected in the 2016 provincial election. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Party.


On August 23, 2016, Hargrave was named to the Executive Council of Saskatchewan as the Minister of Crown Investments Corporation, the Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Government Insurance and Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Transportation Company.


He was shuffled to become Minister of Highways on November 9, 2020.


Several politicians have come under fire for leaving Canada over the holiday season.
