Royal St. John's Regatta not going ahead


The Royal St. John's Regatta is not a go today.


The event will now be postponed to tomorrow.


A few showers are expected for today along with some fog and a high of 24.


There will be various street closures and many city services will not be operating as per normal.

  • Garbage and recycling collection will occur as normal and is not affected by the holiday.

  • Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open for commercial and residential users.

  • All City parking by-laws are still in effect, however paid parking regulations will not be enforced as Regatta Day is a Shops Closing Holiday.

  • The Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Public washrooms will be open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park, Kenmount Park and Quidi Vidi Lake.

  • The outdoor pool at Bannerman Park is closed all day, however Bowring Park pool will open at 2 p.m. for public swimming following the Kids of Steel Triathlon.

  • Splash pads at Bowring Park, Bannerman Park and Kenmount Park are open on Regatta Day.
