The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in western Labrador has seized a large quantity of contraband cigarettes.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in locating 34-year-old Justin Roberts. Roberts is wanted in connection to the offence.

Last Thursday police conducted a traffic stop and the driver was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license and no insurance. The vehicle was seized, and the driver was issued tickets connected to the offence.

Officers seized the vehicle and police found a large quantity of contraband cigarettes inside the vehicle.

As a result, a search warrant was obtained and executed on January 19. The warrant resulted in the seizure of a large number of contraband cigarettes from the vehicle, totalling 109,800 cigarettes.

Two individuals have been charged in relation to the seizure.

Alexander Powell of Corner Brook was arrested and a warrant of arrest has been issued for Justin Roberts of Deer Lake.
