RNC removing abandoned tents and destroyed property at "tent city"

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has descended on the "tent city" on the grounds of the Confederation Building.

Officers are removing what they describe as "abandoned tents and destroyed property." Police are saying they are not dismantling the site.

This property can be retrieved by the owners at police headquarters.

Police are encouraging those staying in the area to consider their personal safety and take advantage of the options that have been made available to them.
