RCMP seize drugs and weapons at Carbonear residence

RCMP executed a search warrant on a home in Carbonear on Friday that resulted in the seizure of cash, drugs and weapons.

A 38-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested.

Drugs, including suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription pills, were located inside the residence by Police Service Dog Grinch.

A quantity of cash, firearms, ammunition and a stun gun, were also located and seized.

Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, careless storage of ammunition, possession of a prohibited weapon (stun gun).

Both individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to attend court at a later date.
