RCMP looking for missing man in Middle Arm

The RCMP is looking for a missing 79-year-old resident of Middle Arm.

Willis Penney was last seen on Monday afternoon.

He was last seen at approximately 2:00 p.m. departing his Middle Arm residence on his ATV. He was believed to be heading into the woods to check on a hunting trap.

The ATV was located abandoned on a trail in a wooded area by local residents who also searched the surrounding area.

At the time, he was wearing camouflage clothing and is considered to be an avid outdoorsman.

Search efforts are continuing today with a ground search being conducted by Deer Lake Ground Search and Rescue and RCMP Police Dogs Services, as well as assistance from local residents. An aerial search is being conducted by Government Air Services.
