Police seize cocaine and acid at St. John's Airport

The RNC and RCMP have made an arrest in relation to Operation Riptide.

On Wednesday evening officers attended St. John’s International Airport and seized 13.7 kilograms of cocaine, as well as 4500 blots of acid.

As a result 27-year-old Michael Rumsby from British Columbia has been arrested.

The accused has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking in connection with cocaine and Lysergic Acid Diethylamine (LSD).

The accused has been released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
