Police seize cash from Deer Lake Hotel room and arrest Clarkes Beach man

RCMP-RNC JFO West executed a search warrant on a hotel room in Deer Lake on January 5 that resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Christian Woodford of Clarkes Beach.

Police seized a large amount of cash. Police say the cash was the proceeds of crime.

Woodford is currently before the court on a number of criminal charges, including conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance and a number of other drug possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges, was found in breach of a number of conditions of his release order.

He attended court on Friday and is charged with three counts of breaching conditions of a court release order and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is set for Thursday, January 12, in Corner Brook.

The investigation into the money seized is continuing at this time.
