Police move in to end Ottawa blockade

Police have moved in to end the illegal blockade in Ottawa. Several people have been arrested as officers retake the city.

Ottawa Police is reporting that protestors have put children between police operations and the unlawful protest site. Police say the children will be brought to a place of safety.

The House of Commons has cancelled the sitting for today. There was supposed to be a debate on the Emergencies Act debate.

Police arrested organizer Pat King today. Last night organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were arrested.

The occupation in Ottawa has been ongoing since January 22, 2022.
