Police investigate reports of gunshots in St. John’s West End

Police responded to reports of possible gunfire and a heated argument in the west end of St. John’s on Sunday night.

RNC were called to the area around 8:43 p.m. following witness accounts of loud bangs believed to be gunshots, along with reports of a verbal altercation between two individuals.

Multiple police units quickly arrived on scene, securing the area until officers determined there was no immediate threat to public safety.

The incident remains under investigation, but authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing risk to the community.
