Over 8,000 customers without power in Newfoundland
There are over 8,000 Newfoundland Power and NL Hydro customers without power on the south coast, west coast, and parts of central.
Newfoundland Power says crews are dealing with large or multiple trees coming in contact with power lines due to the extreme winds.
At this time there is no estimated restoration time for most outages. In most cases, it remains too stormy to operate.
Winds remain strong on the southwest coast and have picked up in intensity as far north as Corner Brook.
