Trudeau orders takedown of "high altitude object" over northern Canada

NORAD has detected a "high altitude object" over northern Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered the takedown of the unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. It was shot down over the Yukon. Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, and a U.S. F-22 successfully fired at the object.

Trudeau also spoke with President Biden this afternoon.

Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object.

Last week the United States military took down a Chinese spy balloon off the U.S. east coast and shot down another unknown object on Friday over Alaska.

This is a developing story.
