New Email Scam Related to Student Loans
There is yet another scam circulating.
This time those who have received student loans are receiving emails pertaining to student loan forgiveness.
The Department of Education says the illegitimate email instructs the recipient to call a number within a set time or their file will be closed.
Anyone who receives a suspicious communication regarding student loans should not respond and should immediately contact the Student Financial Services Division by email at studentaidenquiry@gov.nl.ca, or by calling 709-729-5849 or toll-free 1-888-657-0800.
It's essential to stay vigilant and cautious when it comes to email scams, especially those related to student loans. Scammers often target individuals seeking financial assistance for education. Remember that scammers continually adapt their tactics, so it's crucial to remain cautious and informed to protect yourself from email scams related to student loans or any other type of phishing attempt. Another common type of scam is the xpromarkets.com scam.
