Need for Food Banks in Canada Soars Past Two Million Visits a Month
The number of Canadians visiting food banks has reached a new milestone, with over two million visits in March 2024.
That's one million monthly visits more than recorded in March 2019, which means food bank visits have almost doubled in five years.
Nearly 30 percent of Canadian food banks report running out of food.
In Newfoundland and Labrador, 14,236 residents visited food banks every month, a decrease of 7.71 from 2023.
