Man deceased after snowmobile collision near Happy Valley-Goose Bay

A 42-year-old man is deceased after a snowmobile collision outside Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

On Saturday evening police responded to a snowmobile crash on the ice near the mouth of Goose River.

The snowmobile had struck a piece of driftwood that was partially snow-covered.

The operator, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the machine and died as a result of the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
