Man deceased after moose collision on Saturday

On Saturday evening the RCMP responded to a moose-vehicle collision that occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway near Middle Gull Pond.


The collision resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man.


The car with four occupants collided with a moose that was crossing the highway. The 50-year-old passenger was transported from the scene with serious injuries and later died at the hospital. The remaining occupants escaped with non-life-threatening injuries.


The investigation is continuing and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged.
