Man Arrested for Impaired Driving & Failing to Self-Isolate in Corner Brook #nltraffic

Corner Brook RNC has charged a man from Fort McMurray, Alberta after police attempted a traffic stop in Regent Square around 4:00 am this morning.

When police attempted the traffic stop, the driver fled the area on foot. He was quickly apprehended.

He now faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Vehicle, Refusal and Obstructing a Peace Officer, and was charged under the Provincial Special Measures Orders for Failing to Self-Isolate since he arrived in the Province on January 22.

He remains in custody and will appear in Provincial Court today.

He was issued a 90-day driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded.
