Man arrested after suspected impaired driving in Brigus

Last week the RCMP arrested a 19-year-old man after receiving a report of a suspected impaired driver in Brigus.

Upon receiving the report, officers conducted a patrol and located the driver.

The same vehicle was reported to be excessively speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway a short time earlier in the area of Paddy’s Pond.

The man showed signs of drug impairment and was arrested.

He was transported to the detachment and completed a drug influence evaluation and was released from custody. He is set to appear in court at a later date to face a charge of drug impaired driving. His licence was suspended and the car was seized and impounded.
