Man arrested after mosque attack in Mississauga

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after Peel Police says he entered a mosque in Mississauga, Ontario armed with an axe and bear spray.

The man attacked people gathered for the dawn prayer, with bear spray while brandishing a hatchet.

At approximately 7:00 am on Saturday, officers responded to the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre in the area of McAdam Road and Matheson regarding an assault.

The members of the Mosque quickly subdued the man until police arrived.

The Mosque members received minor injuries as a result of the bear spray.
