Liberals survive confidence motion
With support from the NDP and the Bloc Québécois the Liberals have survived a non-confidence motion put forward by the Conservative Party.
Members voted this afternoon and the Yeas received 120 votes and the Nays received 211 and the motion was defeated.
This motion was the first of many that are expected in this fall sitting of the House.
This summer the NDP backed out of the supply-and-confidence agreement with the Liberals allowing such motion to potentially pass and trigger an election.
