John Abbott States Wants to Delay Resumption of Leadership Race



A candidate for the Liberal Leadership in this province is in hot water with the party after making remarks despite the media blackout.

John Abbott stated that he wants the party to delay the resumption of the race.

The party issued a written reprimand to Abbott for breaking the rule.

On February 17 of this year, Premier Dwight Ball informed Liberal Party president John Allan of his resignation as party leader and premier, to take effect when the Liberal Party chooses his successor.

The leadership convention was slated to open o nMay 8th but was cancelled due to COVID-19. The leadership election committee met on May 11 to determine whether the suspension of the election can be lifted and, if so, determine a new schedule.
