Hydro reported a new record for electricity generation

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro reported a new record for electricity generation on Saturday.

The utility said that the island peak was around 1730 MW. The previous record in 2019 was around 1720 MW.

The majority of that electricity was from renewable electricity in Churchill Falls, Muskrat Falls, Bay d' Espoir, and Exploits, and 450MW came across the Labrador-Island Link. It was not only providing electricity for customers in this province but also in Nova Scotia and Quebec.
