Guidelines released for Royal St. John's Regatta

The Royal St. John's Regatta is going ahead this year but there will be new rules in place for the event due to the ongoing pandemic.

The Regatta will take place on Wednesday, August 4, weather permitting.

Those wishing to watch the event may do so virtually.

This year the Winner's Circle will be fenced and not accessible to the public. Only Regatta Staff, Committee and participants will be able to access the secured areas.

Extra security will be in place throughout the day including the RNC for crowd control and will enforce public health guidelines.

There will be road closures at Clancey Drive, Lake Avenue, Carnell Drive and Lakeview Avenue with the Boulevard remaining open. The three public parking areas will be closed or limited to authorized vehicles only. Parking or stopping on the Boulevard is not permitted. If vehicular access poses any risk at this location, the Boulevard will be closed by the City of St. John’s in consultation with their other enforcement partners.

Vendors are not permitted to set up operations on Quidi Vidi Lake.
