Group conducting study on social and workplace relations following cancer diagnosis
Krista King, a Ph.D. student with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University, is part of a team conducting a study into the experiences and perspectives regarding social and workplace experiences following the diagnosis of cancer.
A team of investigators including patient partners, scientists, and oncologists will conduct the research virtually in a group setting.
The team is interested in the perspectives of participants from different parts of the province, young individuals, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The results of this study will help understand the challenges and opportunities cancer-affected individuals experience in their social life and at their workplaces.
This information gathered can be used to inform public, social, healthcare system and workplace programs and policies; promote inclusion; develop social and workplace practices that serve the individuals affected by cancer well, and enable individuals diagnosed with cancer to experience a better quality of life.
