Government announces support for agriculture sector

The provincial government and the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture has announced an investment of $2 million over three years to drive workforce development and support growth in the agriculture sector.

The funds will support farmers and secondary processors in the agriculture sector to expand their human resources needs and unlock new markets for products.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture will start developing strategies to diversify the agriculture industry in the province, and stimulate employment by updating skills the sector requires.
