Furnace oil prices increase again
After increasing furnace oil by 4.95 cents per litre on Thursday, The Public Utilities Board has made another adjustment.
Furnace oil has increased by another 7.74 cents per litre making a total increase of 12.69 cents per litre in two days.
The PUB says the adjustment is due to significant increases in the benchmark prices for New York Harbour Jet. New York Harbour Jet makes up 75 percent of the winter blended benchmark price for furnace oil heating fuel.
The new maximum prices are 136.32 cents on the northeast Avalon, 140.32 cents in central, and 137.22 cents in the Corner Brook and Deer Lake area.
