Freeland Delivers Fall Economic Statement
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland delivered the Fall Economic Update on Tuesday.
Canada is projected to post a $40.1 billion deficit this year.
The update also included measures to build more homes faster with an emphasis on low-cost rental homes and more affordable apartments.
Government also plans to enable the Competition Bureau to crack down on abuses of dominance by bigger companies, such as predatory pricing and modernize merger reviews.
There is also a plan to enable more private parties to bring cases before the Competition Tribunal and receive payment if they are successful.
A plan was also announced to continue to build Canada's clean economy.
