Florida Panthers Win Stanley Cup


The Florida Panthers are NHL champions after winning game seven in the Stanley Cup finals last night.


The Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 2 to 1. Both teams scored once in the first period and the Panthers took the second goal in the second winning the series 4 to 3.


Florida became the first Stanley Cup winner since 1945 to win the title in seven games after taking a 3 to 0 series lead.


Edmonton Oilers Captain Connor McDavid was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs.
